One door, and it opens from the inside.
The Murph is a timed workout: 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, then 1 more mile. You do not do it to prove anything to the club. You do it with someone who is already in it, and that is how you meet the club at all.

The thing that decides whether you belong happens away from this website, and the site only writes it down.

You do the whole thing with a member of the club standing next to you. Not a video, not a screenshot. They are there.

The date, your own time, and the number that member holds in their country's register. You ask them for it.

That it happened, and that you belong here. They can correct your time, and theirs is the one that stands. This is what opens a position.

You become the way in
The next person gets in the same way you did, standing next to you. There is no other door, which is why the club only grows by doing the thing it exists for.
You write the record yourself: the day, your time, and the number of the member who was there. Every member holds one in their country's register, and asking them for it is the whole of it — there is no roster to browse and nobody to search for.
They then answer two questions, and both have to be yes. Did we do this together, in person. Does this person belong here. Anything else closes the record, and you are told only that it closed — never who decided or why, so that saying no never has to be said to your face.
They also see the time you entered and can correct it. Theirs is the figure that stands and the one the board shows. That is deliberate: a witness who cannot correct the number is a rubber stamp, and the time would be self-reported in all but name.
When you take your position you choose what the membership is worth to you. The amount is never shown to anyone, here or anywhere else. What it is and what it does are explained in full at the point where you choose it.
Anyone can make an account, and an account is not a membership. There is exactly one door and it opens from the inside. No application, no waiting list, no admin who can wave you through. If nobody in the club has stood next to you for two hours, you are not in, and there is no version of this page that changes that.
What happens after
The part the club is actually for. None of this is software, and saying so is the point.
One goal at a time, over one to six weeks. Short enough that you can still see the end of it from the beginning. It has to be work you can count and work you control: three hundred calls, not a better quarter. A hundred and twenty kilometres, not getting fitter. You do not control the outcome, so the outcome is not what gets counted.
Before a goal is logged it goes past another member, who is free to tell you the window is wrong or the goal is one you cannot actually influence. They are not there to encourage you. They are there to be someone you have to answer to.
Murph Monday is what it sounds like. Members run it together, and a Murph counts in public only when another member was there to confirm it. Everything you log privately stays yours to see; only the confirmed ones reach the board.
The product is the door and the register. It records who is in, in what order, and what they have done. It does not coach you, message you, or notice that you have gone quiet. Other members noticing is the entire mechanism.
What does not bend
- The number is permanent
- It is issued in order, it is never changed, and it is never reissued to anyone else. Everyone who claims after you in your country gets a higher number.
- Nothing counts on your word alone
- You write down what you did. The member who was there confirms it, corrects the time if you got it wrong, and their figure is the one the board shows. No remote confirmation and no video: someone stood next to you or it did not happen.
- The amount is never shown
- What you contribute sets your place in the register's order and nothing else. It is not displayed, not ranked as a figure, and not comparable by anyone.
- Nobody enters except through a member
- There is no other route in. Not for a friend of the club, not for someone who asks well, not for the founder's acquaintances. The club began with one person who had nobody to confirm him, and that is the single exception it will ever have.
